In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 film and television applications in the United Arab Emirates exhibited varied performance trends across key metrics. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Shahid - ﺷﺎﻫﺪ saw a noticeable fluctuation in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $174K at the end of March and peaking at around $184K in early April. However, by the end of June, revenue had declined to roughly $112K. Weekly downloads experienced a significant drop from about 31K at the end of March to just under 5K by the end of June. Active users for the app also showed a downward trend, starting at around 65K and ending the quarter at approximately 50K.

Netflix maintained a relatively stable weekly revenue throughout the quarter, with a minor peak at $55K in the last week of June. Weekly downloads were consistent, ranging from 11K to 15K, with a slight upward trend towards the end of the quarter. Active users for Netflix remained robust, hovering around 430K to 450K throughout the quarter.

OSN+ exhibited a steady weekly revenue, averaging around $29K to $38K. Weekly downloads were relatively low but steady, ranging from 3K to 6K. The app’s active users showed a slight increase, growing from approximately 51K at the end of March to about 40K by the end of June.

Disney+ entered the UAE market in June 2022 and quickly gained traction. Weekly revenue started at about $162K and decreased to roughly $25K by the end of June. Downloads were impressive, starting at 136K and then stabilizing around 48K. Active users showed a rising trend, starting at approximately 88K and peaking at around 137K.

STARZ ON experienced a gradual decline in weekly revenue, starting at around $26K in late March and dropping to approximately $19K by the end of June. Downloads for the app remained low, fluctuating between 1K and 6K. Active users saw a decrease from about 28K in late March to approximately 18K by the end of June.
